1973 Fiat 850 Sport Spider

The little Fiat with the strong Italian accent in the movie 'Cars' was a '58 model, this little Fiat was named in his honor;  Luigie. I am the second owner, Luigie was originally purchased off the showroom floor in California back in 1973 and only has 40,400 original miles. Luigie is a Bertone model built in Turino, Italy.

This little car is a blast to drive, it is like a jet powered roller skate that gets more looks and comments than it's cousin, the Ferrari; which is also owned by Fiat. Fiat will be making it's debut back in the U.S. in two years, so you will see Fiats all over the place again.

What have I done to it in the past 400 miles? Well, I had a brand new clutch professionally installed by Sutton Automotive. Brand new Michelin tires put on at Sam's Club. I also replaced the battery with a brand new one from Les Schwab. Then I didn't like how the brakes felt so I had new rotors, pads, brake lines and a complete new master cylinder installed last week.  The car is in fantastic condition and obviously the major components have just been replaced by the pros.

So you say, a soft top in Idaho? Well here is the kicker, it also has a super rare, hard top that comes with it. The hard top is light enough that one person can easily lift it on or off and two fasteners with a 7/16 wrench and you are ready to roll. The soft top is in excellent condition with no tears or rips.

Now you ask, why would you spend all that money and time to fix up an old car then turn around and sell it? I honestly don't have a good answer for you. I am 6'1" tall and 240 pounds and I fit in the car really well, obviously I fit better with the top off.

The little car reallly does run well and if you would like a car that has spent it's entire life in the garage, low miles, head turning potential, this is it. Luigie get great gas mileage and if you would like, you can have the customized license plate of LUIGIE that comes with him, I will sign those plates over to you.

I will happily turn over all the service records and receipts. I have exactly $5,011.63 invested in the past 12 months in Luigie and will offer him for $4,600. I will be pretty firm with that price only because I could drag it down to the Las Vegas car show and sell it for around $7,500-$8,000. I am not looking to make money on this, I had my fun and now it is time to pay it forward to the next person.
